This is a rendering test. @youronly.one put together a kitchen sink collection for Standard.site platforms on Semble, and asked if SkyPress could have one too. Here it is :)
SkyPress uses the WordPress block editor, but only a small set of its blocks: ten you can insert, plus the list items that live inside lists. Each section below shows one of them, with a note on what you should see.
For reader developers
- Articles are
site.standard.documentrecords. - The body is in
content, as ablog.skypress.content.gutenbergblock tree. The lexicon page documents the format. - If your reader doesn't support that format,
textContenthas a plain-text version of the whole article.
Text formats
Note: underline and text colors aren't kept. Highlighted text uses your reader's default highlight color.
Bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, Ctrl + K, H2O, E = mc2, highlighted text, and a link.
Combined: bold and italic, bold and struck through, and an italic link.
Note: the next three lines are in a single paragraph, split with line breaks (Shift+Enter). Each one should start on a new line.
Roses are red,
skies are blue,
this post is a test.
Headings
Note: the article title is the page's only h1, so headings inside the article start at h2. This section's title is an h2.
This is an h3
This is an h4
This is an h5
This is an h6
Lists
Note: the nested items should be indented under their parent.
- First item
- Second item, with a nested list:
- Nested item
- Another nested item
- Third item
- Step one
- Step two, with a nested list:
- Step two point one
- Step two point two
- Step three
Quote
Note: the quote has two paragraphs and a citation.
Your words, your account, the open web.
This second paragraph is still inside the same quote.

Pullquote
A pullquote is a bigger, louder quote, meant to stand out from the text around it.
Someone, probably
Code
Note: code blocks don't store a language. On skypress.blog, the reader guesses the language and adds syntax highlighting; other readers may show plain text. This is the list of blocks SkyPress allows, straight from its source code.
export const ALLOWED_BLOCKS = [
'core/paragraph',
'core/heading',
'core/image',
'core/gallery',
'core/quote',
'core/pullquote',
'core/list',
'core/list-item',
'core/code',
'core/separator',
'core/embed',
] as const;
Separator
Note: there should be a horizontal line between this paragraph and the next one.
There should be a line above this paragraph.
Image
Note: the image should have alt text ("The SkyPress editor, with a paragraph being written") and a caption ("This is a caption.") below it.
Gallery
Note: the gallery has three images, each with its own caption.
Embeds
Note: SkyPress turns links to Bluesky posts, YouTube videos and Vimeo videos into cards. Any other link stays a plain link.
That's everything
Those are all the blocks SkyPress supports today. Did I miss anything? Let me know in the replies :)
